We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and dedicated
Family Time Supervisor to join our team. This rewarding role involves facilitating and supervising family time sessions between children and their parents, family members, or significant others, helping to maintain and strengthen relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
About the RoleAs a Family Time Supervisor, you will oversee and support family time sessions, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children while promoting positive interactions between family members. You will provide accurate observations and reports that contribute to care planning and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise family time sessions in community settings, contact centres, or other agreed locations.
- Ensure the safety, welfare, and emotional wellbeing of children at all times.
- Observe and record interactions in an objective, factual, and professional manner.
- Produce clear, accurate, and timely reports following each session.
- Promote positive and child-focused interactions between family members.
- Manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Liaise effectively with social workers, carers, and other professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Support transport arrangements for children and families where required.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in child care
- Experience working with children, young people, or families.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Excellent observation, recording, and report-writing skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain impartial, professional, and resilient in emotionally sensitive situations.
- Good organisational and time-management abilities.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Desirable Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Childcare, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Previous experience supervising family time/contact sessions.
- Understanding of local authority children's services and court-directed family time arrangements.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
